The fuel pressure regulator...

With the less restrictive/forced intake, we needed a cheap way to richen the fuel mixture; increasing the fuel pressure was the answer. The original regulator was cut open with a Dremel tool. The small spring in the photo was purchased at Ace for $2.07; it fits inside the original spring to add pressure to the diaphragm. An adjusting bolt was made to put pressure on the spring. The vacuum fitting was JB welded to the modified cover. The unit was then riveted together and sealed with silicone. It works as good as any after-market adjustable regulator, for under $3.00!
